With the passing of our favorite author, we as fans, would like to start a movement to get ALL of Dorothy Gilman’s books in eBook format. In this way, the entire English speaking community would have access to her works and be able to enjoy then for years to come. Let’s face it traditional books are slowly dying out and electronic media is taking over. Why shouldn’t we have access to all of our favorite author’s stories? I say we start today and DEMAND that all of her books be made available for all of her fans around the globe. If we can get them released in an electronic format such as a PDF format then all of the online bookstores would be able to sell them. Granted, there is nothing like a regular book to read while relaxing that doesn’t require a computer or special device for access but it costs way less to create a book in ebook form of some kind and offer it online. It is the “GREEN” way to go.
Once, we get the stories in English in some kind of electronic format then it would be simple to have the books translated into whatever other language her fans need them in to share with family and friends. Published October 15, 2009 | Sadly, there are only two of Dorothy Gilman’s Books that are currently in Ebook form and they are offered by Barnes and Noble. You will need to install their free ebook reader and they can be used on iPhone/iPod touch, Blackberry, PC or Mac from their website.
The first one is for Mrs. Pollifax Unveiled which is the last book in the Mrs. Pollifax books to be released. This story finds our favorite heroine being sent to the desert with her old friend John Farrell to try and find an American Tourist who averts a plane being hijacked and then promptly disappears! You can click on the picture below and be taken to the Barnes and Noble website for each of these books.
MRS POLLIFAX UNVEILED:
The second book available on the Barnes and Noble website in ebook form is the very last book published by our favorite author called Kaleidoscope. This is a continuing tale of the fun and exciting adventures of Madam Karitska and her friend from the police Detective Lieutenant Pruden.
