Blog Author

This is a page to introduce the author of the Mrs Pollifax Fan blog. As we get more volunteers to post to the blog then we will be adding more information on each one. Hopefully, in the future we will have a lively interchange between all of her fans. This blog is for the Dorothy Gilman fans to exchange stories about her stories we have read and anything else related to any encounters we have had with the author and how her books and stories may have changed our lives.

The blog writer does not have direct contact with Dorothy Gilman. She is just a fan of her work.

Jolene MacFadden is the blog writer for the Mrs Pollifax Fan site. She is a single mother of 4 who enjoys creating websites, writing on her blogs and now has her own bookstore selling ebooks and crafts that her and her mother create called Southern Women Crafts: http://jolenesbooksandmore.com Jolene makes hand-crafted jewelry and her mom, Sandra, (Another long-time Dorothy Gilman fan) crochets scarves, hats and purses. Jolene created this website over 10 years ago and it has gone through several different changes over the years. She has read almost all of the Dorothy Gilman books and magazine stories she has ever written and some re-read at least 10 times.

This is a neat site. Thank you for all the information. I would like to write to Ms Gilman.
Can you give an address of some kind – I realize it would have to be probably through Word Press???
    Sincerely,
    Tara Blood

these are characters I would like to see with Mrs. P: Farrell, Yanko, Cyrus, & Bishop. I am sure Ms. Gilman can think of a great location.

We have read all of Dorothy Gillman’s Pollifax books. We started in the early 1970s and are re-reading them now. Yesterday we sat in our car in back of the McDonald’s parking lot in Anthem in Florence, AZ and listened to the only CD we have of Mrs. Pollifax (we got it from Amazon). When we turned to the news on the radio we heard about the tragic death of Officer Perry of Michigan, who was shot by border bandits along the border north of Mexico, near Sierra Vista. The stories of Mrs. Pollifax help us to think about other things for a while.

I found Mrs. Polifax (or as I like to think of her Emily like she is one of my dearest friends and that is how I think of her) on tape and I had many hours listening to the tape and loving her like she was an old friend. I also have the books and I have since introduced her to my mother who loves her as much as I do.
Thank you so very much for the enjoyment I have gotten from her. I do not care where she goes or what she does I will be crazy about it I am sure. I was so happy when she met Cyrus and found a partner…. no one should be alone and he is so perfect for her.

    Thanks-
    A True Fan-Melanie Floyd
