We are instituting some changes in our Privacy Policy for all of our websites over the next few days. Since, we have been getting an enormous amount of spam subscribers we will be requiring Captcha verification on log-ins, new subscribers, and comment posting. We don’t get a lot of legitimate comment posting but we would like to encourage those true fans of Dorothy Gilman to be able to make them when they want. We have gone throughout users listing and deleted everyone we thought might be a spammer using a WordPress Plugin tool. These are by no means perfect and may even have deleted some of the legitimate fan accounts. Not to worry you can always become a subscriber again you will just have to input a little bit more data now to get accepted.
For our fans who just want to receive emails of our Blog posts, we have put a “Subscribe Via Email” box on the sidebar. This function will send you an email whenever we post a new article. This might come in handy when we start getting those Fan Fiction stories! You don’t have to Subscribe to the Blog to get these updates and there are no usernames or passwords involved. The email address for these type of subscribers is kept in a secure location within the website software and not accessible to anyone. You can always use your favorite RSS reader program to get the updates as well through our Feedburner Feed system. There are no passwords with these either.
All those Fan Fiction Writers out there you can submit your work to us throughout CONTACT US form. That comes directly to the blog writer who will check the file for viruses before downloading it to her computer, read through the contents and manually post them to the Fan Fiction Page. Each Fan Fiction writer will get credit for the entries by name, city, state and/or country. We want to encourage all those writers out there to submit their stories for the fans to read. Who knows you may even get your own fans as well!
You must subscribe to the BLOG through the Log-In Function on the sidebar if you want to make comments with your name, email address, and a password. All comments are held for approval before being released and they have to pass the Askimet Spam filters as well.
Until next time, keep on reading, writing fan fiction and blogging yourself!
