I would like to get my fellow Dorothy Gilman’s Fans reaction to the following: “How About a Box Set of all of her earlier works? Now this should be released in paperback (possibly even hardback) and eBook format. Of course, audio versions would be sweet as well. I don’t know if all of her fans have read every single thing she has written but I think I have. There might be an exception or possibly two. I do have copies of 98% of her written stories. Most everyone I know loves to read stories more than once. It would be nice to have ALL of the stories available now.
So, what are we talking about exactly? Her children’s books or teenager series books. There is a growing trend of people wanting to remember a more peaceful time such as the 1940s and 1950s. No, the times were not any easier because we had just gotten finished with World War II and were about to embark or the Korean War. But our grandparents and, for some of us, our parents reflect on those years with fondness and all the possibilities that everyone believed were opened to them at that time. We were trying for space travel; computers were being available for businesses and universities; new businesses were being created every day; and we had hope.

After the last two years I think we could all use a little innocence and hope right about now. To me that is what her stories were all about. I was finally able to purchase all the Mrs. Pollifax eBooks before my mother passed. She really enjoyed the series and all of Ms. Gilman’s stories.
