Mrs Pollifax Movie Clips on YouTube

Mrs. Pollifax Movie Clips on YouTube. Sadly, so far there are still only two short movie clips on YouTube of the Angela Lansbury Mrs. Pollifax movie. It would be nice to be able to see the whole thing. I’m afraid I only got to watch it once when it first aired on CBS in 1999. Even though the scriptwriters pieced together a couple of the Mrs. Pollifax books for this version of the movie it would still be pretty great to have the entire thing again. The quality of the recording on YouTube is pretty blurry as well. If you know of anyone who has a copy of the entire movie or is selling a good quality copy on DVD we hope you will share with the rest of the class here.

I have always thought that Angela Lansbury would make an excellent Emily Pollifax. No disrespect to Rosalind Russell intended. Her version of the first book in the series was very true to life. But Ms. Russell could never play a meek, grandmotherly type. She was just too bold and flashy a personality. The Mrs. Pollifax character is supposed to blend in and not be noticed. She did an excellent job with the script and her supporting cast was pretty great as well. I enjoy watching that version of the movie once a year anyway.

Personally, I think all of her books should be made into movies. All of her stories are pretty great especially for those of us who enjoy a good cozy mystery. Even by today’s standards they still are great storytelling.
