I don’t know about you but I just love Fall. Yes, I live in Florida and even in North Florida, we do not get as many of the dramatic color changes you will see in other parts of the country. I just like it because that awful oppressive heat gives way to a more gentle warmth and soon a nice overnight cooling trend. We do get some frost on the ground before Christmas but most of the colder weather doesn’t really start until after the holidays. With the cooler temperatures, I like to cook heartier meals and curl up with a great book or two.
I generally will start re-reading some of my favorite series but I like to start with a couple of non-series ones by my favorite writers. Dorothy Gilman is one of those, of course. I do really enjoy picking up one of her stories to have a couple of hours of great entertainment. Thale’s Folly is one of those stories. I have purchased all of the Pollifax books in eBooks this summer because my mom wanted to read them again. Our paperback and hardback copies are still in storage. I am working on getting the other nine books in eBook format. I created a listing if you would like to purchase copies for yourselves. It is a great story of families that is still relevant today. We should all come across an eclectic group of individuals living off the land and supporting each other as best we can.
