Finally Interview With Dorothy On CD

Finally Interview With Dorothy On CD

Finally, I have found a copy of the Dorothy Gilman interview at the end of the CD for Mrs. Pollifax Unveiled. This narrated by the ever-popular, Barbara Rosenblat. I will be listening to the book in my car as that is the only quiet place I have lately is my hour-long trips from Live Oak to Chiefland Florida every Saturday and Sunday when I run over to open my craft shop. This is going to be such a treat. Now, if only I can find a decent cup of coffee and donuts along the way.

I listened to the entire interview which lasted a little over an hour. Funny though how Mrs. Rosenblat’s rendition of the voice of Mrs. Pollifax is very similar to the writer’s. I am in the process of learning about narrating books-on-tape, as it was called in the old days, with a new author client on Audible. It takes quite a bit of talent and patience to read a story into a microphone with emotion, different voices for different characters, or at least distinguishing men from women and children from adults. There will be lots of great material to create nice videos for each of the stories. Now that the rest of her more modern-day booklist is finally going to be available at the end of June!

Ms. Gilman’s children have sent in a couple of drawings that she created some time ago to share with her fans.

Now, this looks exactly like how I pictured Mrs. P’s little apartment building. What do you think?

And this might be a version of Mrs. Pollifax. I do not picture her like this at all but more like the drawings I have seen on a couple of book covers like Mrs. Pollifax on Safari and even the covered of the recorded book Mrs. Pollifax Unveiled above.
