We have some really great news for our fellow Dorothy Gilman Fans out there. I was on the OpenLibrary.org website this past weekend browsing for new eBooks to download and read, of course I check out my favorite authors first, and they have over 60 eBooks listed under the Dorothy Gilman name. Granted some are duplicates and even one was from another author but that is great news for those of us who are downsizing and would like all of our favorite author’s books on our reading devices. Granted you can only check them out for 14 days and you really need an unlimited interenet to read some of the books without straining your eyes or have to deal with the buggy Adobe Digital Reader software but still it is very good news. We received a recent email about this same subject this past month.

I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve read your blog. Dorothy Gilman’s books were magical. I’ve read all the Mrs. Pollifax books and some of the standalones; the few pre Mrs. Pollifax books were hard to track down. Any hints, especially the magazine articles? Though I’m downsizing and even gifted my copy of the “maze…castle”., I would like to read all of her works. Thanks!
Well, Ms. Li and our other fellow fans out there, go to the OpenLibrary.org website and sign up for a FREE account today. As for the Magazines you can now download the stories directly from our website. Just go the Magazine page and click on the story page for each to download a PDF copy of the story. We have purchased the back issues of every single magazine and created PDF documents for her stories inside them. Sadly, we have purchased several copies of the Jack and Jill magazine but the middle pages are missing (they included a paper doll in that particular issue and we think the story is on the back of one of those pages). And the Stalker, which is in storage and I cannot convert it over to a PDF until we make a trip back to Jacksonville to retrieve the copy of the Alfred Hitchcock Magazine and scan it into the computer. I thought I had done that one already but I cannot seem to find it on the computer I’m using these days. 🙁
